Stitch Fix: October 2016 Picks

My first Stitch Fix last month delivered a thrill, so I was excited to see what would come in my next Fix.

To recap, Stitch Fix is a styling service that sends you clothes and accessories either on-demand or on a schedule of your choosing for a $20 styling fee. A stylist curates your Fix based on a comprehensive style profile you create, plus any special notes you leave. You keep what you love, return what you don’t love in a prepaid shipping bag, and your card will be charged accordingly. The $20 styling fee is applied to your purchase and if you choose to keep all five items in your Fix, you’ll receive another 25% off the total.

Jessica styled me again and sent some more fun fall pieces, plus a couple of surprises based on changes I made in my profile.

Here are my picks (And items I nixed) from my October 2016 Stitch Fix!

Marquita Pleat Detail Blouse (Alice Blue)

The orange item I requested in my last Fix didn’t work out, so Jessica sent me another top in a slightly lighter shade and in a funkier design. While I did like the color better than the color of the turtleneck sweater from September’s Fix, I didn’t like the gold dots. I felt like they were too flashy for me. The flowy style was okay. I think I would’ve liked it more if it fit a bit tighter.

Annaway Cable Knit Sweater (RD Style)

I think a comfortable sweater is essential to any fall wardrobe! While I definitely felt that this sweater delivered ultimate warmth and comfort, I had the same feelings about it that I had about the vest in my last Fix. It just wasn’t my style, and the color was too plain. It also felt a little too tomboy-ish, and I’m looking to add more feminine pieces to my closet.
Kept or Returned: Returned

Jemie Crochet Hem Knit Top (Loveappella)

Speaking of feminine, Jessica noticed that I rated higher in the boho and romantic style categories, so she sent me this sweet purple top. I fell in love with it right away! It’s simply perfect, from the color and the softness to the crochet detail and cape-like back (Not pictured). Plus, it fits to a t. It’s perfect for work, days and afternoons out on the town, and date night. I will definitely be wearing this one a lot!
Kept or Returned: Kept!

Dolce Bootcut Jean (Just Black)

I can never get enough pants, and these jeans hit another home run. I love the dark wash, stretchiness, and slightly flared boot cut. Definitely a must-have for my wardrobe!
Kept or Returned: Kept!

Lillian Natural Stone Pre-Layered Necklace (Berry Jewelry)

Ah, I got something that wasn’t a clothing item! Again, this was related to the changes I made to my style profile. I thought this necklace was very cool and fashionable, but I couldn’t see myself buying it and wearing it a whole lot. Plus, I had a rough time untangling it to put it on, so I already knew that I didn’t want to deal with owning it.
Kept or Returned: Returned

Though I only kept 2 out of 5 items this time around, I was still mostly satisfied with my Fix and felt that my stylist was once again pretty knowledgeable and considerate. I asked for more feminine items in my next shipment, plus more shoes and outerwear, so here’s hoping Stitch Fix delivers again next month!
